How did Kratos get smart?

After discussing goals and requirements, our experts chose the Rotation Module from our suite of plug-and-play smart modules, to measure research-quality data from the shaft of the flywheel. We moved forward with a plan to launch on two products on their flywheel line, with the potential to integrate all four.

With this approach, we were able to achieve high accuracy and reliability for the metrics Kratos identified as important to their customers.

These modules include best-in-class sensors, and connect wirelessly to our software via bluetooth.

How do RepOne apps guide athletes using Kratos?

Once we chose the appropriate module, our engineers worked closely with Kratos to create flywheel-specific data visualizations, program builder tools, and intelligent guidance based on the data coming from their specific product.

First, we built a project plan...

that included an estimated roadmap to align both teams on an expected timeline. The plan detailed all top-level project milestones and deliverables, as well as a detailed budget through production.

Before we started to build...

we analyzed each project requirement against industry standards, engineering constraints, user expectations, manufacturability, and more. We then presented the final concept for approval.

Once the concept was agreed upon...

we started to build early design prototypes. We tested sensing methods, locations for sensor and battery integration, play-tested LED notifications, and created our first functional smart flywheel.

With everything we learned, we built our first engineering prototypes and verified that performance met engineering requirements.

After the first prototypes performed well in our workshop...

we began work on external integration with units at Kratos HQ. During this process we validated the design of the product, and tested manufacturability of our engineering prototypes.

When Kratos was happy with the look, feel, and performance...

we built our first manufacturing prototypes, and wrapped up development of software and firmware builds that included features specific to Kratos Flywheel products.

To complete the initial order...

we delivered the first batch of modules to Kratos, each individually calibrated and quality controlled for guaranteed performance. We then coordinated on customer success and marketing to ensure many years of successful RepOne Connected partnership.
