Here are the latest updates to your sensor
If you're on firmware version 0.8.34 or newer, you shouldn't notice a significant difference in features. Your device will just be more reliable in Bluetooth and power state (when it enters/exits low power mode, and the % battery reading).
If you're coming from 0.6 or 0.7, check out the list below for what you can expect in the latest firmware.
- RepOne Tether support
RepOne Tether started shipping earlier this year, and the improved electronics bring along with it better battery life, more LED functionality, better tilt navigation, and support for metrics like power and force coming in later firmware updates. - New rest time metric
If you ever used an OpenBarbell, you may remember the rest counter at the top center of the screen. All versions of RepOne Sensor and Tether get a timer that counts the rest between all reps in minutes, right there on the OLED screen. - Minimum ROM threshold reduced to 130mm
A big request for years was a reduced minimum rep range of motion for folks with a high bench arch. 150mm was just shy of some of our more flexible users, and we were able to successfully test a reduced minimum ROM of 130mm without running into more false reps from squat/bench unracks/re-racks. - Improved tilt navigation
We re-wrote the control algorithm from scratch for the tilt navigation, and we think you'll find it a major improvement. It's more responsive and intuitive, and the LED's blink to show you if you've tilted enough to switch reps. - Reduced standby power use in newer units
The latest electronics in RepOne Tether allow us to turn off higher-powered electronics components, and wake everything up when the accelerometer detects movement. Since the accelerometer sips on the order of microwatts, this represents a nice power savings for newer generation hardware. It should translate to an extra session or two between charges, and if left on in your gym bag, it'll take a lot longer to die. - LED features (sign of life, blue for bluetooth, purple for low power)
We've added a few LED features to make day-to-day use of Tether (and some older Sensor models) easier. The LED turns blue when connected to bluetooth, purple when the battery is low, and it stays dimly lit while awake so you know at a glance that you're ready to record data.
There are also tons of bug fixes, including Bluetooth connection issues, over-the-air firmware update issues, and issues that effected how much charge the device needed to exit low power mode. With the latest firmware, we're confident this is the best RepOne Tether yet.
