Teams have been measuring and utilizing object velocity in strength training for quite a while. Some of the predominant methods at the time of this report are rep auto-regulation via audible velocity loss indicators, outcome-specific velocity ranges/F-V curves, and velocity floors for dynamic effort sessions. These methods are quite different in their goals and applications but have one key aspect in common, they are easy to implement in a team setting.

A team setting introduces several interesting problems in applying modern auto-regulation methods like full athlete individualization. Most of these issues arise from the athlete-coach ratio, where it is not unusual for a program to have only a handful of Strength and Conditioning staff for hundreds, and in some cases over 1000 athletes...
